Yummy edible recipes that kids love!
Recipe 4 CANDY CLAY
10 ounces chocolate, almond bark or candy discs
1/3 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup corn syrup
Slowly melt candy and stir until smooth. Add syrup and blend thoroughly. Pour onto waxed paper and spread with fingers until about 1/2 inch thick. Cover loosely with waxed paper and permit to stiffen for a few hours.
Kids as well as adults, can play with this "clay" making worms, letters, flowers, etc. (I have made flower petals by rolling out little balls and flattening them, then pinch the petals together to make flowers. Chocolate flowers make great gifts to bring to friends:).
Recipe 4 EDIBLE PLAY DOUGH
1/3 c Margarine
1/3 c Light corn syrup
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Vanilla extract
1 lb Powdered sugar
Food coloring (optional)
Mix first 4 ingredients. Add sugar. Knead dough. Divide and add food coloring. Keep refrigerated
Recipe 4 FINGER LICKING FINGER PAINT
Here is a great recipe that my students love to finger paint with. They can even taste test their creations.
What you Need:
finger painting paper
corn syrup (thick)
food coloring
Put a good size blob of syrup on each student's paper then, add a drop or two of food coloring onto their syrup. Let them dig in! Be sure to let the painting dry for a day or so, you may want to
outline the drawing wih a black marker as well:)
