Why did I wait this long to try Spanx?

I've "known" about Spanx for a really long time. I saw the product as one of Oprah's favorites. Saw Sara Blakely on The Rebel Billionaire show and was all proud of my fellow ATL girl. Even though I knew the product was probably good … I didn't try it. I had my particular brand that I was satisfied with and just didn't want to spend that kind of money on something that I might not like.

Well… did I go wrong! I finally tried it the other day and OMG!!!  I have been suffering from pinched up torso syndrome (thanks to my non-spanx bodysuit) needlessly! I'm a new -stubborn convert to the Spanx revolution.

Good "foundations" as my grammy put it, have always been difficult to find for a "blessed" woman such as myself. On my first visit to one of those "find the perfect bra" stores, I learned that I fit into a whole new bra alphabet that for some reason, normal stores ignore. For years, I have doubled up and modified various undergarments to keep the girls in check. A quick experience with Spanx proves that these things are designed by a WOMAN making them so different from everything else out there.

There are endless models of Spanx to choose from, so I ordered several and tried them in the comfort of my home and sent back the ones I wasn't so crazy about. Here is what I LOVE:

 The Cami:

The material is sleek and comfy without feeling like an iron girdle. I'm glad the tag tells you to step into it because I would have gotten stuck with the over-the-head approach.

It's an amazingly "invisible" feeling fit. You feel the support but you don't have that "get me out of this" urge at all.

I LOVE that there is a pocket for the underwire so you can pull it out if you don't want it. I can't tell you how many times I have butchered my bodysuits to hack that wire out of there.

If, like me, you need a little more support for the girls, try wearing this UNDER your bra of choice.

The cami is a bit pricey, but I learned the hard way that some things are worth the investment.

The open cami:

This one is a little less expensive, and YES it does look a little weird at first, but give it a try. I like this one for those more casual, comfy days.

I recently spent all day flying across the country wearing this one and it was a true test of the comfort. I emerged from the flight without pinch-lines everywhere.

I especially love how the straps are off to the side, giving some much needed relief to the permanent trenches in my shoulders.

So this open cami, is another worth-the-investment in my book.

Other items that I tried but sent back include:

Maybe when my bank account allows, I'll try more models, but for now, I am sitting much more comfortably than before! Thanx Spanx! For those of you who know me in-real-life... I'm sorry if this is way TMI. Wink
