  • Buying Spices Discouraged with trying to restock your spice cupboard with poor quality, ridiculously expensive grocery-store herbs and spices? Recently, I was walking around a health food store and saw that they had herbs and spices in bulk to be purchased by the ounce. I stocked up, filling my spice cupboard for a fraction of the price I would have paid at the grocery store, and ended up with fresh, strong-flavored herbs and spices in exactly the amounts I need. Now I won't buy anywhere else. Submitted By: LolaMomX4(Added: 7-Nov-2005 Hits: 0 Rating: 0 Votes: 0) Rate It

  • Cookies like Grandma who has time to make home-baked cookies whenever you feel like it? Now we all can, try this tip. It worked for us. One day mix your cookie dough. (I actually use the cookie pouch mix, and do several patches of the same kind at once.) Instead of baking, roll-out portion sized balls and freeze on a cookie sheet. Do not allow the dough balls to press together, you want them to be seperate. After they are frozen, transfer them to an air-tight container and freeze until ready to use. You can then take out as many or as little as needed. Why pay more for ready to bake cookie doughs? Submitted By: regina lakus(Added: 28-Jan-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 9.25 Votes: 4) Rate It

  • Cooking meat When you need to flour or cover meats with crumbs, use a pair of plastic gloves(I bought an extra pair of hand washing type). It keeps your hands and nails clean and the gloves can be used again and again. This is also more sanitary. Submitted By: Judy Lee(Added: 20-Nov-2002 Hits: 0 Rating: 8.00 Votes: 2) Rate It
