Fuzzy Hair
Use your hand lotion when you hair is went after you have conditioned it - just rub some lotion in your hands and smooth it over your hair - doesn't make it greasy unless you use TOO much. Works great and I use Bath and Body lotion because I just happened to have too many bottles and thought I will try this and ended up using those extra bottles.

Germ spreading Prevention
When people in the family are sick they still brush their teeth, and I realised that even though you may throw out the toothbrush to get rid of those germs....what about the toothpaste? The tube of toothpaste is a likely candidate for germs to breed. Therefore they can be spread from family member to family member very easily.
I suggest that each person has their own tube...preferable a sample size tube. Then when they are sick, you throw out the tube that they are using while sick. And, by having the smaller tubes, there is less waste when it is thrown away.

Handy cold pack
I keep a bag of frozen peas handy for sprains and other injuries. The bag molds well around injured areas and can be re-frozen for use again later. I also found that frozen waffles are great for minor boo-boos. They aren't as cold as the peas, and also mold to fit areas like knees, elbows and foreheads

Heating Pad
1 bag of long grain uncooked rice
1 long tube sock
Fill sock with rice, and tie sock at top. You can also use a nice piece of cloth, instead of sock.
Place in microwave for about 3-4 min.
This makes the greatest heating pad, and stays hot for about 1 to 2 hours depending on how large the sock or cloth is. These can be made for about $3, and make great gifts.

Heavy head for babies
For both adults and babies , the best way to get rid of the heavy head when suffering from cold is to apply a paste of turmeric powder mixed in warm water/milk/breast milk on the face, forehead and behind the ears and to let it dry. It will absorb all the excess fluid

Help for upset tummy
My son and I both suffer from severe motion sickness in the car. If your child suffers motion sickness, keep a tin of Altoids mints in the glove box. The peppermint candy will soothe upset stomaches with surprising speed, and getting an unexpected sweet will take your child's mind off his misery! If your child doesn't like peppermint, try letting him suck on a piece of candied ginger. Ginger settles stomaches just as well as peppermint (mom's don't perscribe Ginger Ale for tummy aches for nothing!)

Help With Frequent Shots
I have two children with Diabetes. They have 4 shots per day and check their blood 4 times per day. Total 2960 pokes in a year. We have found that if we put the shots in the freezer and take them out when needed, then draw up the insulin they do not hurt as bad. So far it has really helped our family. Tammy Widdison
