  • Maternity Underwear What a topic, but every pregnant woman needs them at some point right? I have found that purchasing a brand of underwear called Luv Pats is much more economical than spending $10-$12 on maternity undies found at dept. stores. They are just as comfortable and grow with your growing tummy! They are even comfortable to wear after delivery without pressure on your stomach! The average pkg. costs around $4.00! • Moaning to relieve Labor pain You all hear about breathing techniques but the fact is having labored 8 times you forget the techniques and well they just don't work. I think they are set in place to get your mind off the ouch it hurts train. Moaning in a low growly tone surprisingly helps your body deal with the pain more effectively. • Morning Sickness I had HORRIBLE morning sickness throughout my entire pregnancy. The only thing that took care of my nausea was drinking lemonade throughout the day, or drinking water with lemon juice. Something about the lemon took care of my stomach! • Morning Sickness Sucking on lemon drops helps with the dreadful morning sickness. I don't know how, or why, but they work wonderfully. Submitted By: Daphne Danzeisen(Added: 14-Apr-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 9.00 Votes: 3) Rate It

  • Music during pregnancy As soon as you find out you're pregnant, keep the same radio station on when you drive or listen at home. Do this especially your last trimester, and when your little one gets upset in the car or at home, turning on that particular station calms them down quick, plus there's variety for you! • Packing for Hospital Many people want to come visit the new baby. Be sure to pack hand sanitizer in your hopital bag. Friends and family can take a squirt of sanitizer, rub their hands together, and you'll feel better knowing hands holding baby are free of germs. • Packing for Hospital Heres something you never hear about to pack. Pack a delicious snack for post partum. After all that work you will be famished, and to be honest, that egg salad sandwich thats been sitting in the fridge at the hosptial is not very appetizing. Think Donuts :D Submitted By: cindermella(Added: 11-Jun-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 10.00 Votes: 2) Rate It

  • Packing for the Hospital Bring a little post-it notepad & a pen! You will be amazed at how many uses it has. When I had my daughter, I used one to make lists of things I needed, questions I wanted to ask, info for the nurses or doctors, etc.! I had questions that I would forget to ask when the doctor came around, so I wrote out my questions & stuck the note directly onto my chart, so it was there the next time they made their rounds! The nurses thought it was a great idea, too, they didn't have to disturb me to get info. Submitted By: Sue122(Added: 15-Jul-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 0 Votes: 0) Rate It

  • Pregnancy Itchies About 20 percent of all pregnant women have some kind of generalized skin itchiness. Hormones and your stretching skin -- especially over your growing belly -- are probably to blame for your discomfort. About two-thirds of all pregnant women will get red and itchy palms and soles, a condition experts think is caused by an increase in estrogen. It usually disappears right after delivery. Apply moisturizer or try a warm oatmeal bath (you can buy these special preparations in beauty products stores) to soothe your tingling skin. Add a cup of cornstarch and half a cup of baking soda to a tub of water for an added measure of relief. Heat rash can intensify the itching, so wear loose cotton clothing and avoid going out in the heat of the day. Submitted By: LooLoo(Added: 4-Oct-2000 Hits: 0 Rating: 8.00 Votes: 1) Rate It

  • Preparing for Breast Feeding Contrary to opinion you need to toughen the nipples up not soften them. Lotions and creams are not advised. Try wearing a nursing bra so your nipples rub against them all day long. Also, exposing your nipples to air and massaging them will help you avoid the cracks before they happen. • Relax your tummy Particularly during the last trimester of a pregnancy, sleep is important but often difficult to achieve. My favorite solution to this problem came by accident when I sipped a cup of chamomile tea at bedtime. My kicking baby immediately quit kicking and I found that my muscles relaxed enough to allow me to sleep soundly. The best part is that there's no caffeine and no harmful herbs or other products in chamomile. My obstetrician told me to drink as much of it as I wanted. And boy did it make the difference! If the flavor is a little bland for you, try adding a little cinnamon, honey or lemon. Submitted By: 24TMommy(Added: 1-Feb-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 0 Votes: 0) Rate It

  • Rubbing Alchohol for an upset stomache! Instead of taking medicine to cure an upset stomache, try putting an alcohol pad under your nose! If you don't have any pads, just put some rubbing alcohol on a rag or cotton ball, and hold it under your nose for a few minutes! It REALLY does work! I learned this trick when I was pregnant and had morning sickness, I was in the hospital, and kept getting sick, and when they used the alcohol pad to wipe my arm to take blood, I smelled it and felt better, so I asked if I could have some alcohol pads, and I kept them by my bedside....Everytime I felt sick again, I put one by my nose, and instantly felt better!! • Stomaching prenatal vitamins with morning sickness They say to take the prenatal vitamin on an empty stomach, but one way to stave off morning sickness is to never let your stomach be empty. Plus, those vitamins will come back to haunt you with a foul taste every time you burp for hours after taking them. I took mine in the middle of the night, since I always had to get up at least once to use the bathroom while I was pregnant, that way my stomach was empty and the taste of the vitamin was gone by the time I got up in the morning. • Sudden nausea quick relief They say the cure for morning sickness is to have small snacks spread throughout the day. But what about those sudden nausea attacks that come with no warning? Pop in a piece of SOUR WARHEADS CANDY. The taste buds on the very back of your tongue are for sour sensations. When one feels the urge to purge, the back of the tongue contracts to help the gag reflex. by placing a very sour source on the tongue, it relaxes therefore easing the urge to purge!!!!!
