  • School Notes Made Easy My kids take dance lessons several days a week and sometimes I need to pick them up right from school to go to the dance school. I used to write a "pick-up" note each time. I then discovered it was much easier to make a "form" note, leaving blanks for the date, child's name, and my signature, and to copy several sheets ahead of time. I then fill in the blanks when I need to pick up the kids after school. I have also done the same thing for excuse notes, leaving blanks for the child's name, reason for absence, date of absence, and my signature. I thought this was not such a novel idea but have gotten compliments from several teachers so I thought I should share this time-saver with you fellow mommies! • Teaching your child to read I like to buy packages of colorful napkins for my 6 year old at the dollar store. I put one inside her lunch box everyday and write a small love note on it (ex: mommy loves you very much.) in permanent marker. She is always eager to read the different notes, and if she has difficulties the teacher will help her. She always tells me she feels happy to think about me at lunch time too. • Time Saver When our children, who attend 3 different schools,(preschool, elementary and junior high) bring home papers with important dates or locations on them I highlite the ones that affect our family so I can check them at a glance. It works great. This also works for expiration dates on coupons. Submitted By: Diane Sambdman(Added: 5-Nov-2004 Hits: 0 Rating: 10.00 Votes: 1) Rate It

  • Timesaving for the Morning Rush Mornings tend to be very hectic at our house. Sometimes my daughter can't decide if she wants to take a home lunch or buy one at school. So, now I make up envelopes with her name, teachers name and "LUNCH MONEY" printed on it, I even put a place for the date. Each envelope has the correct amount of money for 1 meal. I put the envelopes in the car so that I can give it to her to slip in the backpack. I don't get the calls of "forgotten lunches" any more. And, no more scrambling for the correct change. • Valentines Promote Learning I recently went to the store looking for some valentines for my boys. I always like to add something unique to add interest and individuality. I also stumbled across some seed packs for .10 in the gardening dept. at my local Walmart. I put a bunch of packs down near my valentines and thought what a lovely idea to include a pack of forget me nots or sweet peas with the kids valentines. If you're really ambitious you could make your valentines on the computer and glue the seed packets on the covers, with clever sayings inside.
