My two year old daughter is potty training, but as a busy mom it is hard to work with her. We bought an extra little potty chair to keep in the car, that way we always have "her" potty with us where ever we go. So whenever we are at someone's house or on vacation or traveling or just whenever we have her potty, because alot of times kids won't potty on a different potty other than their own.

Potty Training
When I potty trained both my kids, I used a small potty chair. Whatever room we were in, I would also bring along the potty chair, that way the child, would see it, and use it, and not have an excuse. My daughter was potty trained at 17 months old, and my son by 2 yrs old. It sure pays not to have to buy diapers.

Potty training
When my husband and I were potty training my son it took us forever. We didnt think that it was going to work and one day my husband come up with the idea that we would put candy on the back of the toilet and when ever he would use the toilet he got rewarded with a gift and in no time at all he was trained it worked for us.

Can't get you'r little boy to potty in the potty? Try throwing a magnet in the toilet and telling them to aim for it. I know it sounds crazy but it works.

Tip for potty training have your child wear his underwear underneath a pull up. This will allow him to feel when he goes but will help you with cleanup.

Do not use pull-ups to try to potty train. They feel like diapers to children and they will use them like a diaper.

potty training boys
I didn't believe it when I heard it, but I tried it and it worked wonderfully!! When potty training your little boy, allow him to run around the house witout any underware or pants on. It helps him to feel when he has to pee better. There will be some mistakes, but when it happens, he can see what he is doing and it will help him understand it too. Of course not a good idea when you have company over.

Potty Training Chart
Here's a terrific idea to help potty teaching go a bit more smoothly. Make a chart for each week/month (depending on your childs patience). For each time he uses the potty successfully, give him a sticker for the chart. For each accident, an X. This will help him see how he is doing! When his chart is filled with dots, he gets a small prize (like baking cookies with mom or such).

Potty Ttraining
Because potty training can sometimes be messy, I pack the diaper bag with a spare outfit or two each in a separate large sized baggie or zip-lock bag. That way if my daughter has an accident while we are out I can change her right down to her socks and I have a bag to store her soiled clothing in.

Pretty Food and Fun eating
Make your own 'Blues Clues" apple sauce by simply adding blue food coloring. Also to encourage your toddler to try new foods purchase several cookie cutters in various shapes. Cut foods, sandwiches, cheese, fruit...anything into shapes to make new foods fun. You can also use food coloring on several foods too. AS kids we always had different colored mashed potatoes...we loved eating them when they were a cool color.

Problem with Biting
My child care provider has cut down the problem of the toddlers biting others by using vineger in the child's mouth that bites. She gets permission from the parent before she takes this action. She takes a dropper and uses one drop. She also bought each child their own teething toy. She bought the same toy for each child but in a different color so that they could tell them apart. When they feel the urge to bite or chew on something, she tells them to bite their toy. If they have had a bad day with biting, she makes them carry the toy around with them during the day. My child attends a home child care where there are only 6 toddlers so this has worked really well for them.

Protection from potty training accidents
What I do to protect my couch from "accidents" is to first layer an old sheet over it - then a few ripped up plastic garbage bags to cover - then another sheet...and tuck it all in. Protects and doesn't look messy. (If you put plastic first every thing slides too much.)

Putting the finger in the nose!
If you have a toddler, or an older child, who tends to pick at his nose, (I think most of them do!), try this: Take his hand and put his finger in his ear. Tell him, "Oh, you're putting it in the wrong place. Put it here"; then, when he does it in front of somebody,(such an embarrassment!) you can remind him, "Wrong place". The idea is simply to redirect his attention.

Quick Clean-Up
My daughter always fusses when take her to the sink to wash her hands and face after meals. A quick and easy solution was to keep some diaper wipes near her highchair. It just takes one or two to quickly clean her up and she doesn't fuss.

Removal of Stickers, Crayons, etc
Crayons off walls, fridge, linoleium floors.
Also has removed stickers off of furniture and price tags from used toys.
GOO GONE - Aa product sold at stores next to paint isle. It removes candle wax as well.
